I’m Timothy Abbatacola. At the moment, I’m reading fiction, Freud, and criticism, and writing about it all.

Thoughts on Freud you’ll find in “Doctor’s Notes.” Thoughts on fiction you’ll find in my podcast, “Reading for Life”.

I’m also writing fiction, perfecting my negroni, and dreaming about opening up a bookstore and bar, preferably with friends.

Reading for life:

This is a podcast about books that seem richer than the sum of their plot parts. In talking about these books, I’m asking a few essential questions: How does literature support my self-understanding and sense of belonging in the world? Can the visions projected in these stories grant meaning? How do I get inside these books and the worlds they constitute? I’m not talking about plot. I’m talking about narrative totality.
